Take me with you!

October 19, 2013

I’m sure my attempt to leave the house yesterday would have been fit for a sitcom, if it was about a spunky dog and her girl. Sometimes Georgia lulls me into complacency, she watches me leave for 10 days straight and on day 11, springs into action and sneaks through the door before I can get it closed. So she escaped into the garage, where she kept running around the car and away from me. I opened the car door to corral her and she hopped in very nicely, in the hopes of an adventure. All car adventures usually lead to the park. I went to fetch the leash so I could get her out of the car, but she jumped from the back deck area into the back seat. So, then I open the door to the back seat and she jumps back into the back deck of the car. We did this dance about 3 or 4 times. I went away for a few minutes and left all the doors open. This did not convince her to hop out. I came back determined and finally caught her in the back seat and pulled her out of the car. I nearly had to lift 55 lbs of wriggly dog out of the car, that certainly wouldn’t have been good for my back.

The moral of the story: your dog loves you and wants to be with you all the time.

Happy Birthday Nym

December 11, 2011

Happy 12th Birthday to our buddy Nym. The dogs got chicken livers as their birthday treat. The people got cake, but Georgia helped herself while our backs were turned for an instant.

The dogs did have a good time, although playing in the house was probably not what Nym’s owner had in mind.

Following the kids around

Georgia really wanted to do everything my niece and nephew did on the playground. 🙂

Georgia the Rock Hound

April 16, 2010

Hopefully Georgia won’t run into any vicious creatures that she has to fight because her teeth are definitely wearing down. And in fact, she lost one last fall. I saw her playing with something and it was her tooth, she was flipping it around, oh to be a dog. The gum closed over and  you can’t tell she’s even missing a tooth. It did not affect her one bit and she was all perturbed with me that we had to go to the vet. It was a seriously wasted trip. So, this is the reason her teeth are wearing away. If you don’t see the video below, follow this link.

Oh What Fun

I captured some frolicking in the snow with the Qik Video app on my iPhone. There’s Georgia and Gizmo and then Nym joined the two for the second round.

Did the fever break?

March 6, 2010

The cabin fever reached new heights this week, what with an overloaded work schedule and cold, snowy weather last weekend, it was getting desperate. However, I think the fever may have broken today.

Georgia got a nice walk in the sunshine. Then she got to play with her current boy toy, Gizmo. The romped and jumped and chased til Gizmo’s tongue hit the floor. There were lots of people around and it was so exciting for Georgia, she loves people. On the way home she wanted to stop and visit her other boyfriend, Nym. They got to run and chase each other through the snow. Oh joy! So, today we had a 2 1/2 hour adventure and life is good.
